When I decided to pursue MBA, there were few barriers ahead of me. The first and foremost, I was in no position to quit my job due to personal reasons and the only option out was to study while at work. Unfortunately, most of the courses offering part time MBA mentioned the same in the certificate. I was particular that the course has to accredited by WES (World Education Services) so that it will be valid worldwide. Lastly, most of the courses offering a valid MBA programme was expensive and beyond what i can afford.

I take utmost pride in saying that i finished all of my assignments/simulations/graded quizzes within the expected deadlines. The Liverpool program helped me understand and see the big picture, as you are literally supposed to imagine your final thesis right from the time you select your topic and bit by bit that is the big picture that you are filling up with your work, until the last day when you have all the pieces of the puzzle, all you got to do now is rearrange them and there you have your full picture.

I had joined MBA course with upgrad last year during the most toughest implementation that I was part of at my previous organisation. Additionally, we were in a global lockdown phase which made things even more difficult. Everyone I spoke to, before joining the course, suggested I should have started earlier, rather than at that point of time. However, I pushed myself to join this course with the sole aim of upskilling myself. It meant that I ended up spending 15-16 hours daily for the next 12 months managing demanding office work, assignments, submissions and exams. It was a gusty decision to enroll for MBA, I was a little hesitant at the time of enrollment due the time commitments towards job. But ultimately the course was bespoke for the working professionals with a fusion of online, live & recorded learning mode. Assignments were well designed to substantiate the latest industry trends, especially the HBR simulations.
Industry dissertation project was flexible enough that one could handpick any topic of his/her areas of interest, subsequently based on ones choice a competent SME was assigned as Guide. Iam happy I fought all odds. At 36yrs Iam able to finish a dream that I had when I was 21yrs back in 2007 to get an MBA from UK. Being married, having a son who was just 5yrs when I started the course also during COVID he was away in Chennai and could not see him for close to 7months due to travel restrictions.
Funding the course again was a challenge. All the loans I had closed were showing in my CIBIL and had to take the loan at a very high rate and even my husband did not know the exact loan amount. Otherwise he would not let me study thinking the amount is too high for the family to manage.
I took my book in which I used to write while studying and seeing the date in July 2020 It reminded how i ever managed to study. Iam seriously amazed.

When i stumbled upon Upgrad's website, i was fascinated to see the course design and curriculum. Once I enrolled for the course, I was super excited to be part of such diversed learning group. All of the projects and assignements in the first year of the course were so intersting and fun to do. Each project was so much different from the other. Doing simulation runs project from Harvard Buisness School was one of the highlight of the course. I got to learn so much from all these projects. My understanding and practical knowledge has definitely improved so much.
In the second year, taking live classes from LBS professors widened my horizons. Preparing thesis with my mentor one on one, her guidance and recommendations helped me in preparing my thesis.
With all the learnings I am now able to understand the practical aspect of various KPIs at my job and also able to assist in designing the same.

I was skeptical about doing an online program because it was not a well known course of action at-least in the academic field. Started a bit scared but i didn't want to loose my current Job and the pandemic made it an only good option to opt for. However, I don't regret it now as I am more than satisfied with the outcome. I was able to network with a lot of peers and all at the comfort of my room. I was able to complete task which i really thought I would never be able to complete to and gaining some good insights helped me compare myself to peers in the similar area of interest and it really helped me boost my self confidence a lot. There are some areas of improvement i would suggest, however I would recommend upGrad to any new user whose primary goal is gaining knowledge and taking the first step in walking out of their comfort Zone.

The journey started at an uncertain time where the world was hit with the Covid-19. The will to learn was the driving force in making me enroll for the course. The dual certification from IMT Ghaziabad and the degree from the Liverpool Business School was indeed an enriching experience. At times, I was pushed to the limits because I am a very busy professional but the support from the UpGrad Execs as well as the professors and mentors were exemplary.
The platform itself was a very smooth to use and the student support team ensured that the issues faced were quickly resolved.
I wanted to have an all round understanding of the management world and the course completely lived up to the expectation. The research based study at LBS was also very useful but at times, it did feel a bit distant and not engaging when compared to IMT.

The structured approach of the program was great and helped me over the course of two years.
